Never seeing any girls playing in professional events had us wondering. Is there no one that can compete at the level of guys? Who are the best female Dota 2 players in the world? Well, we made some research and the result is the following list of top 10 players.

Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden
Born in the Netherlands in 1985, Sheever is not only one of the best female Dota 2 players. She’s also an amazing caster, host, and interviewer. Her passion for gaming started with Warcraft III and got real serious with World of Warcraft. Once Dota 2 was released she did, however, switch over to this action packed MOBA where she loves playing Dazzle, Crystal Maiden, Venomancer and Mirana. Her casting career began in 2012 and ever since she has appeared in numerous international and national tournaments.

Mary “Merry” Rose Mindajao
Merry has been an active Dota 2 gamer for over 5 years. Her favorite hero is Storm Spirit which the top player SumaiL inspired her to master. One of her best achievements to date is when she and her team, Fire Vixens, won the female tournament at the ESGS 2015. This is a major event held in her home country of the Philippines. Merry believes in hard work, patience and practice for those who one day wishes to be among the best female Dota 2 players.
Gunn “Bububu” Kristin
Bububu was born and raised in Norway in 1995 and is quite a popular Twitch streamer. She has an audience of more than 70,000 followers that she regularly entertains by showing off her female Dota 2 skills. In addition to this she also has a YouTube channel where she occasionally adds videos of her playing a variety of games such as Little Nightmares.

Rangsey “MagicNZ” Mou
Having played Dota 2 since the age of 15, MagicNZ is an impressive 23 year old carry player who is currently a member of team Asterisk. She is living in New Zealand and often plays on South Eastern Asian servers with 200 in ping. Despite this, she has managed to achieve a spectacular MMR of 6200. In Season 2 and 3 of the AEF Division 1 (an event in Oceania), she finished in 3rd place twice. Additionally, she has won the Australian 1v1 Summer Cup. Her favorite heroes include Phantom Assassin, Ember Spirit, Queen of Pain, Spectre, Juggernaut and Storm Spirit.

With a top 500 position on the Dota 2 leaderboard, Vintager is undoubtebly one of the best female Dota 2 players in the world. She is originally from China, but is currently living in Australia. Her favorite hero is Invoker which she has more than 3000 games with and a win ratio of over 63%. Naturally this means that you’ll usually find her playing position 2.

Marielle “Layla” Louise
Playing for the team Wheel Wreck While Whistling, Layla was the first female Dota 2 player to ever compete in a main qualifier for a Valve event. On her resumé she also has a third place finish in the 12th season of the North American joinDOTA league. Marielle lives in Canada and mainly contributes to Dota 2 matches as a support player.

Bette “Istarx” Chia
Istarx is a high skilled Dota 2 profile from Malaysia who has been playing as position 2 for the team Grills Gaming. She is familiar with the playstyle of various heroes, but her signature ones are Arc Warden, Meepo and Invoker. Among her achievements is a solo MMR of 5200 and a first place finish at the 2016 FSL Season 4. Besides that, she is a famous cosplayer.

Born and raised in Singapore, Malaomi is a player who has made an effort to learn the ins and outs of the Dota 2 gaming world. She got into video games as a teenager and in Dota 2 she has played more than 4500 matches which is quite impressive. When applying to universty Nicki wrote about streaming which she loves doing. You can regularly find her on twitch where she’s playing Dota 2 at an MMR of around 5500. It’s usually a lot of fun to watch.

Hishiko is a very competitive Dota 2 player who has proven to be among the best females in the world. She’s from Malaysia and has been playing Dota 2 at a serious level for four years now. Her passion for the game truly shows as her solo MMR is at an impressive 7078. She prefers playing as position 2 with one of her favorite heroes which include Invoker, Queen of Pain and Lina. You can watch her dominate on Twitch where she has a regular streaming schedule that she follows.

With a solo MMR of 5800 Char is not only a great female Dota 2 player, but she’s also manager for the North American team SkrSkr 3.0. Char loves playing a carrying role and if she is to decide she’ll pick position 1. She is, however, also happy to take on position 2. We don’t know what her favorite heroes are, but what we do know is that she definitely don’t like Clockwork, Nyx, Meepo and Centaure as she find these difficult to play.
