In an exclusive Betway challenge, two soccer pros from West Ham were trained by two CS:GO professionals in Ninjas in Pyjamas. This is how it went down!
West Ham’s Chicharito is a natural born CS:GO player
Soccer players show most of their talent on the soccer field, but some of them also dabble their hands in soccer related video games such as FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer. We do on the other hand rarely hear of a soccer player who is also very good at CS:GO. Just because we don’t hear of something, does however not mean that it’s not true.
This is what Betway tried to prove when they paired up West Ham’s stars Javier Hernandez, also known as Chicharito and Michail Antonio with Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund from the famous eSport team Ninjas in Pyjamas. The reason why the soccer stars were paired up with the professional CS:GO players was due to a unique challenge which Betway decided to set up.
This challenge consists of two rounds of encounters. In the first one Chicharito and Antonio went head to head in a CS:GO match-up while being coached by f0rest and GeT_RiGhT and in the second encounter the two eSport stars will go in a head to head soccer challenge.
While the second encounter is still to be shown to the public (it is scheduled for the 26th of February on Betway’s eSport Youtube channel), it was in the CS:GO match-up that we may have found ourselves a potential CS:GO star coming from the world of soccer and being wrapped up in a small, but very potent Mexican package. We are of course talking about Chicharito, a short, but agile goal scorer, who is usually highly prolific when in front of goal.
It does however seem that the miniscule Mexican is not only good at scoring goals, but also at delivering headshots with pin point precision. Michail Antonio was the first to find out about the threat that was coming his way, but when he realized the natural born CS:GO player he was up against it was already too late as the Mexican had already notched 11 kills to Antonio’s 1.
The match didn’t start in such a slaughter as both players started off slowly, but confidently, under the guidance of their experienced eSport coaches. Both Antonio and Hernandez had never played CS:GO and had actually never even played a computer game, stating their preference for console soccer based games. This inexperience certainly was there to be seen at the beginning of the match and the initial result was a kill for each player.
However, as the game went on, Chicharito slowly found his groove and Antonio found it difficult to cope with the Mexican. It was just like watching opposition defenses in soccer trying to stop the natural poacher that Chicharito actually is. After the initial 1-1, Hernandez went on an amazing 10-0 run and absolutely destroyed Antonio, who jokingly said that it was his coach’s fault that he lost so convincingly and that he gave it his best shot.
While Antonio might have been feeling lighthearted after such a heavy defeat, he was probably very much in awe of how easily he was dispatched by the short Mexican dynamo. This performance certainly reaffirms the notion that some people are just born with a certain type of talent. This means that in addition to being deadly in front of goal, Chicharito is also a natural born killer in CS:GO and he may have already found an alternative profession when he decides to hang up his boots.
